Briefing and
training for Lay Co Chairs of Deanery Synod
Whilst there are a number of training
events across the country for Rural / Area Deans often they are over subscribed
or at times which mean there is little opportunity for Deanery Lay Co Chairs to
attend.
Following a number of enquires to
the Church House Deaneries Group regarding training for Deanery Synod Lay Co
Chairs a one day workshop / briefing is to be piloted in the St Albans diocese.
Others are also being planned in Southwark.
With the role Deanery
taking a much higher profile, greater responsibility is falling on the Lay Co
Chair. Whether a new or a seasoned hand on Deanery Synod the workshop will not
only provide on overview of the role and responsibilities of the Lay Co Chair it
will also look at new developments and the changing role for the Deanery and
what that means for the leadership of the deanery.
St Albans diocese are
to run the first one-day workshop for Deanery Lay Co Chairs on 28th January
2006. It will primarily be of interest to those in the St Albans Diocese
and surrounding dioceses, however, if space permits it may be possible to
accommodate delegates from further a field.
Details of this
workshop and a similar day in the Southwark diocese will be available during
October.
For more information
about the workshops or if you would like a workshop in your diocese drop a note
